This memorial is a living tribute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
GENERAL: This memorial was designed to honour those who have lost their lives while serving with the 2nd Battalion PPCLI since Korea. The cabinet is located at the 2nd Bn PPCLI Headquarters building in CFB Shilo.
The LAV & soldier silhouette was photographed while the battalion was deployed on Roto 5 - as was the patrol photo inset on the left. The larger background picture on the left is entitled "Holding at Kap-Yong" by Canadian war artist Edward Zuber - depicting the historic battle for which the US Presidential Citation was bestowed upon the 2nd Battalion.
The individual plaques are replicas of the laser engraved granite memorial plaques are located on the cenotaph in Kandahar.
A special note of appreciation goes to Cpl Todd Ricker for the excellent cabinet work in cutting, installing and finishing the background - plus his extra assistance in the final construction and setting up the memorial - and to MWO Dave Mayor, for his perseverance, diligence and caring in organizing and managing this project.
"These brave souls may be lost to us - but will never be forgotten"
