and the CANADIAN AIR FORCE
The principal figure is that of S/L Fred McCall, DSO, MC and
Bar, DFC. Fred went overseas as an infanteer...and found himself
in the Royal Flying Corps. With 37 to his credit in 9 short months.
McCall actively promoted flying in Western Canada and served
in both wars. The Calgary Airport was named in his honor.
Badges in this design include
the CAF wings and pilot's badge. One of the first aeroplanes
in the Canadian inventory was the D.H. 9A....a rugged and dependable
WWI light bomber.
