CANADIAN AIRMEN
& THE SPACE PROGRAM
The astronaut wings
shown in the upper right of this design are very rare. To date,
the only person entitled to wear them is Colonel Chris Hadfield....pictured
at the lower right as the first Canadian to operate the Canadarm.
Today, while preparing for another mission, Chris' voice is the
"Voice of Mission Control".
The black and white
photo on the right is of Major Roy Thompson with the 'mainstay'
of the RCAF's Space Program for 20 years. Its called the Baker
Nunn Camera. Thompson was the first operational CO of Canada's
Space program.
This design features
the Canadian Forces Air Command badge and the mission patches
worn by Hadfield.
