RCAF 'NEON' HAT
BADGE
With the Coronation of HRH Queen Elizabeth II in 1953, the Royal
Canadian Air Force received a new badge. The laurel encircled
RCAF monogram surmounted by the Georgian (King's) crown was replaced
with the badge seen here.
A more modern eagle
on a garter containing the motto "PER ARDUA AD ASTRA"
the designation on ribbons a the bottom of the badge...surmounted
by the Edwardian (Queen's) crown.
This badge was replaced
in 1968 after 15 short years of service...by the CF Air Operations
badge when the three services were subjected to 'Unification'.
We proudly present
this badge emblazoned on sportswear as a reminder that the 'Spirit
of the RCAF' is still alive and well!
